Highland Wamego’s PTK Chapter Conducts Initiation

Highland’s Wamego Center chapter of Phi Theta Kappa initiated 21 new members into the International Honor Society on Sunday, April 19.  Eleven of those new members were present to go through the formal initiation ceremony led by Samantha Zeller (Paxico), current president of the Beta Nu Omega Chapter (Wamego).  Zeller also served as mistress of ceremonies for the event, introducing Diane Hinrichs, Director of the HCC Wamego Center, for words of welcome.  Paul Flumen (Wamego) was the Guest Speaker, addressing the inductees on the importance of staying involved and modeling the PTK charge to play a positive role in their communities.  Dr. Craig Mosher, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at the College, provided the Keynote address, encouraging the new members to have a clear understanding of their core values and to make choices based on those values.  Dr. Lindsay Kubina, the Beta Nu Omega Chapter advisor, gave the closing remarks and, on behalf of those present, congratulated the inductees.

Those students present for the induction were Cody Bonczkowski (Topeka), Hannah Coverdale (Holton), Anthony Hohman (St Marys), Timothy Lillis (St Marys), Annie Marten (Onaga), Rhonda McLerran (St Joseph, MO), Patricia Oliver (Baldwin City), Arie Stenek (St Marys), Cody Riniker (Wamego), Nina Taylor (Mayetta), and Elizabeth Wilson (Topeka).
