Highland Volleyball Earns Post-Season Honors

Members of the Highland Community College volleyball team received post-season honors at the Jayhawk Conference meeting in Iola, KS.  Middle hitter McKayla Brezina (Seneca) was selected to the 2nd Team All Conference as well as 1st Team All-District N.  Courtney Galley (Olathe), who played the libero position, also received honors as she was put on the 2nd All-District Team.

Brezina notched 255 kills for the year as well as 173 digs, 101 blocks, and 26 serve aces.  She was a six rotation player who was able to put up points in the front row with her power arm swing as well as in the back row with her aggressive serving.

Galley lead the team in digs with 385.  She was versatile in that she played all three positions in the back row if needed.  Her competitive drive in every match helped the team finish 6th in the Conference and advance to the District Tournament.

“These two young ladies deserve these awards as they proved themselves each day on the floor,” Highland head coach Diana Gaddis commented.
