The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced five members of the Highland Community College women’s track team as part of the inaugural recipients of All-Academic honors for NJCAA Track and Field. These student-athletes completed the spring semester with at least a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better and fulfilled athletic accomplishments during the 2015 season. The athletic component requires a student-athlete to compete in a NJCAA track and field championship in either the indoor or outdoor seasons or finish in the top 50 on the final descending order list in an individual event or listed as a member of a top 16 relay.
Members of the Highland team announced by the USTFCCCA were Thaina Dos Santos Jensen of Topeka, Chelsea Gabriel from Grain Valley, MO, Alisha Simonin, Wathena, Taylor Smith-Brown (Coral Springs, FL), and Briley Ware of Dexter.
