Highland to Provide Enology Sensory Analysis Workshop

In true academic form, personnel from the Highland Community College viticulture and enology (V&E) programs will be conducting an enology sensory analysis workshop on Monday, October 21, from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Klinefelter Barn/Conference Center. In everyday language, an enology sensory analysis workshop translates to learning about wine tasting.  The Highland viticulture (grape growing) and enology (wine making) programs have become the go-to programs in the state of Kansas to learn about those subjects.  Centered in Wamego, the viticulture and enology programs conduct workshops throughout the state to assist Kansas grape growers and wine makers with the knowledge they need to accomplish their goals and add to the economic development of the state and region.

Highland enology instructor Dominic Martin will be conducting the workshop that will include wine styles, wine flaws, wine-food parings, and more.  Sponsored by the Kansas Department of Agriculture, the cost of the workshop is $10 per person and is open to the public.  All attendees must provide identification to prove they are age 21 or older.  To reserve your spot in the workshop, please rsvp to HCC V&E Program Director Scott Kohl at either 785.456.6006 or skohl@highlandcc.edu.
