 Highland Students Qualify for SkillsUSA National Conference

Three students from the Highland Community College Technical Center will be attending the SillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Kansas City on June 24-28.  The students qualified for the National Conference as the result of placing first in their skills competitions at the state level.  Logan Blakely (Atchison), Aaron Brown (Easton), and Dustin Mortsolf (Lansing) will be representing the College at the Conference competitions to be held June 27 in H. Roe Bartle Hall, the Kansas City Convention Center, and Municipal Auditorium.

The SkillsUSA Championships is a national-level competition involving over 6,000 students in 98 occupational and leadership skill areas.  Blakely will be competing in Automotive Refinishing, Brown in Residential Wiring, and Mortsolf in Diesel Equipment.  SkillsUSA organizes this event, and it is considered the single greatest day of industry volunteerism in America annually at an estimated cost of more than $35 million.
