Highland QB Earns Second KJCCC Honor

Highland Community College quarterback Brandon Bergeron was named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC)/Verizon Wireless Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season as he set a single-game school record of 44 completions in the Scotties’ 23-21 upset victory over previously undefeated #4 Butler.  Bergeron, who is the KJCCC's leading passer with 1588 yards on the season, went 44 of 57 for 294 yards on the night.  The 6’2” 200 pound freshman from Lafayette, LA threw the game-winning touchdown --his 12th touchdown pass of the year -- to Desmond McGee with only eight seconds remaining in the game.  This week, the Scotties travel to Hutchinson to take on the Blue Devils Saturday evening for a 7:00 kickoff.
