Highland Harriers Finish Highest in History

Coach Chad Clevenger’s Highland Community College men’s cross country team placed 17th in Fort Dodge, IA at the NJCAA Division I National Cross Country Championship which was hosted by Iowa Central Community College.  This is the highest finish ever for the men at the Cross Country Championship.  They were led by the College’s first-ever Division I All-American, Brian Martinez, a freshman from Pasadena, TX, who placed 29th overall. Other Scottie notables at the National were sophomore Seth Parres (O’Fallon, MO) in 79th and sophomore Brett Simshauser (Cuba, MO) in 82nd.  The National Championship meet was won by Central Arizona, and Central’s Harry Mulenga was the individual champion with a time of 24:39.
