Highland Education Club Tutors Elementary Students
As part of its commitment to community service, the 25 members of the Highland Community College Education Club tutors Doniphan West elementary students every Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:30. The Highland students, who are interested in the teaching profession, enjoy working one on one with the elementary students, giving the College students an introduction to their careers in education. Another community service the Club has done this fall was to remove trash from the roadside on old Highway 36. Glenna Batchelder, the sponsor of the Club, hosted the students at her home for an evening meal.
