The women's cross country team at Highland Community College achieved a top ten academic team ranking for the recent 2013 season. Their 3.606 combined grade point average (gpa) placed them 6th in the country. Cuyahoga Community College was the top team with a 3.768.
Highland team members receiving the award are Crystal Hoard (Randolph), Jordyn Mize (Nortonville), Hannah Olson (Highland), Annie Ross (Olsburg), and Kelsey Warren (Berryton). Both Crystal Hoard and Hannah Olsen also received Academic All American individually with 4.0 gpa's.
Last year’s women’s cross country team finished 11th in the country. Tom Bond coaches the women’s teams, and the awards are handed out by the National Coaches Association.
