Eighteen Highland Community College student athletes who participated in fall sports have been recognized by the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) for their academic accomplishments. The student athletes were named to the KJCCC All-Academic Team for their sport. Each student had achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Cross country student athletes from Highland making their All-Academic Team are Seth Parres (O’Falllon, MO) from the men’s team and Morgan Bernasek (Beattie), Crystal Hoard (Randolph), and Hannah Olson (Highland) from the women’s team.
Members of the Scottie football squad who made the Academic Team are Brandon Bergeron (Lafayette, LA), Jacob Burnett (Overland Park), Levi Huneke (Sabetha), Dustin Lara (Sabetha), and Joshua Pasley (Lenexa).
Volleyball led the way with nine members on their Academic Team: Kaylie Berkley (Dexter), McKayla Brezina (Seneca), Ashley Dishon (Horton), Lauryn Doolan (St Joseph, MO), Courtney Galley (Olathe, KS), Ashten Langley (Leavenworth), Rachel Schmanke (Oskaloosa), Alisha Simonin (Wathena), and Briley Ware (Arkansas City).
