On Tuesday, July 12, 2022 student services staff completed ALICE Training under the guidance of the Doniphan County Sheriff’s Department.
Sarah Simmons, Coordinator of Campus Safety and Security, said, “This ALICE training was amazing! Jerad Ratcliff (the main instructor) made it so enjoyable and really made us think of the "what if's" in an active shooter situation. Anyone could easily see his passion for the topic. I believe and wish this was mandatory training for all that work on this campus.”
“ALICE training was empowering. I’m grateful to have learned I can do something in an active shooter situation; I’m not helpless. I feel we bonded as coworkers, too. We are now a team ready to act to save lives. The trainers were fantastic. They taught us the options and made it feel very real when they simulated a scenario,” said Sarah Windmeyer, Director of Financial Aid.
ALICE Training helps schools, businesses, healthcare organizations and houses of worship better prepare their most valuable assets-- their people—to prevent, mitigate, respond to, and recover from a violent critical incident. More information is available at alicetraining.com.
