Lisa Parsons is the Director for the Student Support Services (SSS) program. Previously, she worked as an Admissions Representative for HCC for five years before taking this position. Prior to her time at the college, Lisa worked as a classroom teacher at various grade levels. Lisa received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Fort Hays State University and her Master of Science in Curriculum and Development from Peru State College.

She enjoys spending time with her two boys, family, and friends.

Kim Bechtold is the Transfer Advisor for Student Support Services. Kim attended Highland Community College then transferred to Northwest Missouri State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Merchandising. Since graduating from Northwest, she has worked as a Formica Sales Rep and an Enrollment Advisor at Baker University.

Kim and her husband Josh have a son and daughter. 

 

Justine Salgado, Student Support Services Retention and Tutoring Coordinator/SSC Advisor

Justine Salgado is the Retention and Tutoring Coordinator for Student Support Services.  Justine received her Bachelor of Art in History from California State University, Long Beach and her Master of Education in Student Development and Leadership in Higher Education from Angelo State University.  Previously, Justine worked as an Academic Advisor at Angelo State University and as a classroom teacher at various grade levels.

Justine enjoys traveling, crafting, and spending time with her husband, Gary, and their dog, Madden.

Joy Meyer, Student Support Services English Specialist

Joy Meyer is the English Specialist for Student Support Services.  Prior to this position, she taught 25 years in the Highland/Doniphan West schools. Joy earned her AA degree from HCC, a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kansas State University and her Master of Science degree in Education in Curriculum and Development from Peru State College. 

Joy and her husband Wayne live in Highland. They have two sons and five grandchildren.
