Highland Community College, Highland, Kansas, is seeking applicants for the newly created position of Director of Instructional Services. This position will be responsible for assisting the Vice President for Academic Affairs in the coordination of all academic programs and specifically the development, coordination, and delivery of quality instruction at the Highland campus. The position will lead HCC’s efforts adapting to universal accessibility and meeting Section 504/508 compliance in all instruction. This position will also lead the college’s transition to Canvas Learning Management System (Canvas LMS) and provide initial and on-going training to faculty to enhance their teaching experience within Canvas. Other responsibilities: assisting instructors with classroom disruption/academic misconduct violations, training faculty on active learning and student engagement strategies, assisting the VPAA with onboarding, faculty development and evaluation, and collaborating with campus offices on academic-related projects.
