The Western Center will be hosting a spring visit day on April 14, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Stop by the facility to visit with admissions reps, pick up financial aid information, meet the program instructors and tour programs of interest.

Summer and fall semester planning is underway . . .

Highland Community College Western Center is open in Baileyville, KS to serve students in and around the Nemaha and Marshall County portions of Northeast Kansas. After receiving a Federal Title III grant to expand educational access to the area's rural communities, the HCC Western Center plans to serve traditional and non-traditional students alike. They may choose to live at home while pursuing a college degree. Even high school juniors and seniors can take advantage of our technical programs during the school day. Numerous Allied Health and general education courses leading to certificates and degrees are being offered. Opportunities in Precision Ag, Engineering Graphics, and Manufacturing Technology will follow.

We are able to accept enrollment for the Fall 2015 semester in our four technical programs - Diesel Technology, Industrial Welding Technology, Medical Office Assistant, and Building Trades (at Marysville High School). Also, for Fall 2015, we will be offering a Health Care Pathway which will include CNA, Medical Terminology, Nutrition; and courses in Manufacturing Technology to include OSHA 10 training, Precision Measurement, Blueprint Reading and Technical Math. Times for technical programs are: morning session - 8:00 a.m. to 11:07 a.m. and afternoon session - 12:00 p.m. and 3:07 p.m. Additionally, individual technical classes will be listed in the evening.

We have a variety of day time and evening general education classes in the traditional face-to-face format, as "hybrid" classes with a portion of the coursework completed online, and via the Interactive Distance Learning classroom. Access this link to see the courses for Spring 2015.

Note: The scheudle for Summer and Fall 2015 will be available online beginning March 9, 2015.

Now available . . .

We have recently added to our facility an Adult Basic Education and GED Test Preparation Instructor. We will be offering GED test prep instruction and the opportunity to combine GED instruction with one of our technical programs. Please contact our office for more details on this.
