Two Reading/Developmental English Instructors Join Highland

Stacy Freeman and Pamela Fulbright have joined the faculty at Highland Community College to teach Reading and Developmental English.  A native of New York, Freeman holds a bachelor’s degree in Literature/Writing from Bard College in Annandale, NY, and a master’s in Literature/Writing from Union Institute and University in Cincinnati, OH.  She comes to the College from Herkimer College in Herkimer, NY, where she was teaching Interpersonal Communications.  Previous teaching stints include Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY, and Utica College in Utica, NY.  Freeman is a member of The Modern Language Association of America and The Looking Glass: New Perspectives on Children’s Literature.

After completing her bachelor of arts degree from Simpson College in Redding, CA, Fulbright became highly specialized in the Reading field, doing graduate work at National University in Redding in Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development, at St Mary’s College of California in San Francisco in Reading Recovery, again at National University for a master’s in Elementary Education and Reading, a Reading credential from National University, a Master of Science Administration from National, and an SPED Endorsement/Master of Science from Emporia State University.  Originally from Idaho, Fulbright is First Aid and CPR certified.  She had been teaching adjunct courses for the College and was a reading specialist for USD 616 in Troy and USD 353 in Wellington.  She also the Reading First Director and Migrant ELL Director at ESU.
