Title: Head Volleyball Coach
Diana Gaddis will begin her fourth season at Highland Community College as head volleyball coach. The Scotties placed sixth last year making it into the district tournamet. The Scotties received academic honors from the NJCAA and AVCA for their excellence in the classroom for the 2013-2014 school year. The Scottie volleyball team has been recognized every year by the NJCAA and AVCA for academic honors. Since head coach, Gaddis has successfully placed players who wanted to continue their volleyball career at the NCAA Division II level and NAIA four year schools.
Gaddis, joined HCC following a very successful playing career and coaching experience at the collegiate and prep levels. Coach Gaddis spent two seasons as an assistant at Missouri Western State University just across the river in St. Joseph, MO and a year at Central High School also in St. Joseph.
Diana was a four year starter at Morehead State University in Morehead, KY where she was named to several All-Tournament teams and the OVC Touranment team as a freshman. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Public Relations and Masters of Business Administration degree from MSU. Diana is a Jeffersonville, IN native and is married to Andrew Gaddis, Hiawatha High School Principal. Andrew, Diana, James (4) and Emily (1) reside in Hiawatha, KS.
Title: Assistant Volleyball Coach
Alex Petock will begin her second season at Highland Community College as assistant volleyball coach. She is the head of the volleyball strength and conditioning program and has 11 years of playing experience at high club levels and the Division II level. Petock is also head of the Athletic Social Media team and is involved in other various activies on and off campus.
She comes from the University of South Carolina Aiken, where she was a setter for the Pacers for her four years. She also played at a very high club level at Metro American Volleyball Club located in Washington DC. Petock earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science from USCA. She is a Woodbridge, VA native and is the daughter of Mike and Karen Petock and the sister of Justin Petock.
