New Students

1.  Application:  Start by completing an online application for admission.

2.   Placement Testing:  Testing is essential for determing your eligiblity for math and English courses as well as a technical program.  You can schedule a placement exam in Highland or at any of our regional sites.  For more information, contact us or use the link to arrange a placement exam.  

Alternatively, you can also use ACT or SAT scores, as well as your high school GPA and GED scores for placement. 

Technical students enrolling in a program will need to take WorkKeys Applied Math and WorkPlace Documents.

3.  Location: Depending on your preferred campus, here's what to do next:

  • Highland Campus:  Complete the online enrollment appointment form
  • Wamego, Technical Center (Atchison), and Western Center (Baileyville):  After you've submitted    your online application, you'll receive an email with enrollment infomrmation.  Contact your chosen site for further enrollment details.
  • Online: If you're enrolling in online courses, reach out to Online Admissions at 785-442-6170 or hcconline@highlandcc.edu for enrollment information.   
  • Early College: Click the link below for information about Early College Enrollment.

4.  Transcripts: Send your high school and college transcripts to the admission office.  An unofficial transcript can be used for course placement.  Contact your advisor for additional information

 

Current Students

  • Highland Campus Students: Please meet with your advisor to complete your enrollment.
  • Regional Centers and Online students: It is recommended that you meet with your regional or online Student Services Representative before enrolling in classes.  Following this meeting, you can log in to your MyHCC account to complete your enrollment. 

  • Early College students: It is recommended that you visit with you high school counselor prior to enrolling.  Following this meeting, you can log in to your MyHCC account to complete your enrollment.  If you have questions please contact HCC Early College at earlycollege@highlandcc.edu.

 

Financial Aid and Enrollment

  • If you completed enrollment and finacial aid process* by July2 (for fall) or October 2 (for spring) your financial aid will be posted to your student account.  Please check your MyHCC account to view your statement.  
  • If you haven't completed the financial aid or enrollment process by the above-mentioned dates, you'll need to be prepared to make online through your MyHCC account or during Campus and Regional Registration Days.  

*For financial aid to be considered complete, ensure you have done the following:  submitted your FAFSA application, provided all verification documents (if requested), signed your award letter, and completed entrance counseling and signed master promissory notes for all loan borrowers. 

 

Regional Center Enrollment/Registration Days

These days are excluvisely for students at HCC's regional centers

  • You can meet with advisorys to schedule classes. 
  • Get assistance with the financial aid process, set up a payment plan, and/or pay for the the semester. 
  • Pick up textbooks.

  

 

Regional Center Enrollment/Registration Days

 This is the final opportunity to enroll and make payment for the semester.  Textbooks are also distributed during these days.  Before attending students should do the following:

  • Check your MyHCC account to ensure your HCC bill is paid in full by financial aid, scholarships, or a payment plan.  If a balance is due, please pay online or plan to pay when you attend registration.
  • Contact the HCC Business (busoffice@highlandcc.edu) or Financial Aid (financialaid@highlandcc.edu) office if you have questions.
