Seeing that the need for Registered Nurses (RNs) will increase as baby-boomers in nursing are now retiring, that the population continues to increase and live longer so the need for nurses will actually increase, and that their Practical Nursing (PN) program has been graduating PNs since 1966; the nursing program at the Highland Community College Technical Center began the application process to provide area nurses with advanced training to become RNs. Their efforts have been successful as they were recently approved to begin offering an RN bridge program beginning this fall.

The Highland Community College Theatre Department will be presenting the summer musical theatre production of Once On This Island, August 12 -15, 2010, at 7:30 pm in Culbertson Auditorium. This production is under the artistic direction of Jerry R. Ditter and musical direction of Shayna Leahy.

Officials at Highland Community College are looking at ways to provide additional housing opportunities for students planning on attending campus classes in the Fall. Campus housing is not only full, there is a waiting list for available space. Anticipating the situation, the HCC Foundation acquired three duplexes in Highland.
